Community Emergency Response Team Training
The Strathern Neighborhood WATCH on Wednesday, June 16, 20210 had some 40 persons did receive their CERT Certificates as they graduated from the first level of Community Emergency Response Training. Certificates were distributed by Fire Fighter Paul Semerjian who had concluded the program of seven consecutive classes with an exercise in the correct use of the home fire extinguisher.
The WATCH is proud to have sponsored this valuable training to raise the awareness of being prepared in the event of an Earthquake. Subsequent training classes can be accessed by going to the schedule of CERT classes and the refresher trainings online. A second series of basic training is now in progress at LA Fire Department #89, at 7063 Laurel Canyon Blvd., South of Sherman Way. The training is conducted in the Training Building in the rear and starts at 6:30pm on Monday nights. Class #3 will be on July 12, 2010. Persons who need to make up a class sponsored by the Strathern Neighborhood WATCH can get the make-up classes at the Fire Department #89.
